A day of many happy happenings!!!

Today was an awesome day spent with commuity and in friendship. We had a spiritual enrichment session. It was awesome and put a great new perspective in my heart. Part of the day was finding how looking at the verbs in scripture was an awesome way of praying with and seeing what God would have us do. All of our spines shivered as we looked at some of the powerful things that God wants us to reach out to be to others and to do for his people. I pray we all have the courage to STEP forward and MOVE into the future of what God would have us ACCOMPLISH! :) To end the morning of reflection we all shared in praying the stations of the cross. The version that that our presenter used was one that was Christ speaking to us.

After the session I had lunch with several of the sisters. We had good conversation and food as always. It is always good getting to visit with some of the sisters who I don't get to see very often. Then I walked and shared with Sr. Mary Helen. We stopped and visited one of her friends who is a spunky older woman who quickly endeared herself to me. They invited me into their love of mocha java ice cream, which despite my dislike of coffee wasn't too bad at all. She lead a very interesting life and has a beautiful spirit. Which reminded me of my history of ice cream related joys with my friend Tanya. I guess no matter how old or young we are we all need an ice cream kind of friend! :) After all it is always better when shared with friends! :)

This past Monday I had an awesome beginning of an evening sharing in evening prayer with some of the sisters. It has always amazed me how welcoming and inviting the sisters are to the elderly. The sisters are a blessing to us associates as much as we pray that we are enlivening and inviting to them and the mission of unity. I definetly left feeling energized by shared prayer and hope to be able to join them on ocassion for evening prayer.

As we reflected today at the table I sat at and in my recounting today. It is definetly in our experiences with others than we truly experience and come to know God. And today the goodness of the Lord tasted like bannana cream pie and mocha java ice cream!
