O come let us Adore him!

wow!! Last night was a night of many blessings. I was able to attend Saturday Night Alive In Christ. It is mostly youth oriented Eucharistic Adoration with Praise and Worship along with a reading and teaching. There is also opportunity for confession during the evening. It was a blessing seeing how many youth were there. I wish I could say the church was completely packed...but, anyone who was there would definetly have said that it felt it! The spirit was definetly alive and present there. Being an inbetween I wasn't quite sure how to respond when we sang songs that I know the motions to. But, the kids were all on their feet so I joined them with a smile. :) I pray the spirit continues to inspire and fill them all with its power. After adoration we had a time of fellowship, which was fun. I learned a bit of Latin and a bit of Chemistry! But, one of the most interesting things was seeing a picture of Jesus as a boxer....left me with something to think about. I'm not sure how many I know would appreciate that imagry...but, it is just the image I need in my head and heart right now. So, I for one, will not complain.

Friday night I went with my friend Heidi to watch the Living Christmas Tree. It was an awesome reminder of the reality of Christmas and just what it is that God did for us in sending his son. What made it an even bigger blessing was being able to see one of my aunts and the daughter of one of the individuals I used to care for at the home who was in the choir for the tree. I almost didn't recognize her because I had never seen her so dressed up! It was a beautiful evening for sure!

These next two weeks are going to be times of remembering the gift friends and community are to me. One of the sisters passed away this week so this evening and tomorrow we are gathering to celebrate her life and say adieu until we see her again when we return home. Next week will be celebrating my friend Karen who lost her valiant battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by all of us who's lives she touched. I will never forget her giving and persistent nature. She never said give up....she always trusted and knew God would do what he needed to do to bring her through. This time he called her home....but, he also blessed us with the opportunity to have her with us here quite a bit longer than we originally thought we would have. I pray that these two wonderful ladies know how much they touched my life!
