Since it has been awhile since I have posted I wanted to share this. For those of you who are not in the know in November I celebrated my first profession with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Northwestern Pennsylvania. This means that for between 3 and 6 years I will be in temporary commitment with the community and prayerfully at the end of that time will say a full yes to the community. I thought I would share the piece I wrote for our newsletter after my profession with you all.
It is with a full and grateful heart that I write this column. What a blessed celebration my first profession of vows was! Thank you to all who have walked and continue to walk this journey with me in many and varied ways. A full chapel with individuals representing the many parts of my journey to community present as I said my first public “yes”, filled me with great love. Those present represented my me as an associate, family member, friend, as well as my time in Chicago with the Federati on Novitiate Program. When I became an Associate ten years ago, I never would have dreamed the seeds that would be planted; leading me to discern a call to religious life.My joy was enriched by seeing and feeling the joy ofothers around me. I pray that I con nue to let the strength of God’s love and the love of community and friends nourish me as I journey ahead, enabling me to nourish others with love.
