A tale of two communities....

Just thought i'd check in so my bloggy friends know i'm still around. I have been keeping busy working away at the home caring for my elders! There is something about giving life to those who have given life to so many of us. I always enjoy getting to meet the children and learning the stories about the individuals as they were before illness set in. Some of them lead very remarkable lives! The unit I am presently working on has a resident canine. I love having animals around..they definetly bring life and vitality to everyone. Though, it'd be nice to have more time to enjoy the company of the animals. But, alas...that is usually not the case so I enjoy my doses however small they may be.

I was blessed to be asked to mentor one of our new associates coming in. She is a very sweet lady. I think it will be a good year. And it'll serve as a good reminder of what drew me to the sisters in the first place. In a couple weeks we'll have our second session. I wonder if Sr.Mary Ann still does her bit with the toilet paper..hmmm.....and will I be smart or will I make others think that I don't know....that is the question......hmm.........All I know is that we will have a very diverse and dynamic group of associates coming up....the stories we'll all have to tell!!!

Last Friday Sr. Mary Helen and I went to Taize at the Mercy Mother House. It was as beautiful as I remembered it being. And as always the ending song always gets to me.......ah.................one of my homes away from home. And it was good getting to catch up with some of the Mercy sisters and others who I know from Taize. Its still just one of those places where I can go and truly be reminded of who I am and who my first love is and should be. A profound feeling that is!!!!
