Who would have thought i'd be celebrating St. Jospeh and St. Patrick in the same day this year? The day began with a beautiful liturgy. Fr. Dennis was our presider :) and Sr. Catherine gave a VERY powerful and challenging reflection. :) :) :) Then it was time for visiting and eating. Everywhere was pretty packed so I ended up eating with some of the sisters back in one of the old pod areas, which was good. Then I went back to the infirmary for some visiting and much laughter! It was a good celebration. After that I went to OLOL for our St. Pats party. We had Irish dancers and a band playing for us. I enjoyed watching the youngsters gather for the cake walk. I had to chuckle as they were doing their thing. I'm not sure who had more fun with that, the youngsters or us oldsters.
That lead us in to our Holy Week celebrations. Tuesday I celebrated the Seder with the sisters. Wednesdays was the Tenenbrae service. That was a pretty powerful service! Thursday was the Mass of the Lords Supper. I enjoyed being with my church community for that celebration. We had a powerful homily on feet washing, one that I still am digesting. Then we had adoration, which was a blessing. Sunday I attended Mass with the entire family. Attending the Vigil has always spoken more to me so it didn't quite feel like Easter was complete. But...I also got to spend part of the holiday with my elders, which was good too.
