Silence is golden

This was quite the relaxing weekend. I was at Villa Rosa...one of my all time favorite spots. There are many good memories that house holds. Some are also connected with tough lessons, but always good. It was neat sharing community in silence. It is amazing getting dishes done and everything as a group effort. Even when you really wish you could just be sitting. There is something meditative about washing and drying dishes. While I was hoping that I would get some answers I got what I probably needed more....peace and quiet and just being. I learned that I need to quite trying so much and just be more with God...the rest will all flow. And perhaps be less quick to judge myself harshly. It was kind of funny. The two nights I was there I had the door to my room swing open randomly several times. Now...I k now in all logic it was probably the wind from the furnace or something blowing it open. But...I like to think that it was my daddy checking in on me during the night. The first night there was particularly restless. We had a neat prayer service to open the retreat and we ended it with another prayer and gathering the graces. And I ended the day by doing something I usually enjoy, dusting! Yes folks...dusting! Got all those bunnies cleaned up! Ah yes......I love the sisters, interconnectedness, and Villa Rosa.
