Catching up

What a busy time this has been!!! I just returned from a full two weeks or so. I first headed to spend a week on retreat in Baden, PA with our sisters there. They have a large house with plenty of room to be found for solitude and silence so that you can truly hear God working in your heart. Along with enjoying the beauty of his creation. It was relatively rainy and hot so I was not able to be outside as much I would have liked..but, was able to enjoy a fairly enclosed porch that is there. All in all it was a very graced week of time God and self.

I returned home this past Wednesday and got ready to head to St. Louis on Friday. Clare who was with me during my time in Chicago made temporary profession on Sunday.  So, it was a weekend full of celebration and reconnecting with Clare and others who I met along the way on the journey.

Needless to say.....I am pretty dog gone tuckered out!!! However, life has a way of marching on!

As some of you may know, one of my companions on the journey these past few months has been Sr. James Frances who is a retired english teacher. Now....as many would know that was what my dear Grandma Lena specialized in teaching. Even making me diagram sentences when I did not have to. Sr. James Frances has really been encouraging my writing skills and working with me to hone them and make them even better than they already might be. So, one of the assignments she had given me was to write a poem, something she knows I enjoy. So...I thought I would share one of those poems with you.

Hope for the future,
I try to hold on tightly
to God's loving word.

It is the one thing
that I can count for certain
and trust to remain.

Folding me in love
is my creator and guide
as I journey on.

A journey that flows,
leading to the heart of God,
sending love to all
