Christmas in April??????????????? Is my liturgical calendar off???

Today sure is a beautiful day!!!! It is one of those days that makes me feel like I can honestly answer someone when they ask how I am with 'thanful'. I am constantly learning and being humbled by my elders. I pray i can someday reach the point that rather than a complain or perfunctory 'ok' that saying 'thankful' will become my true and first response to how I am doing. Today I sure am close to it.

At Mass today I thought Fr. John had his liturgical seasons a bit mixed up...we began Mass by singing Joy to the World. I had a sly smile on my face thinking that he probably had something up his sleeve in singing that for a teaching moment (which he did)...and it added to my peace and joyfulness for the day. And as i really paid attention to the words I began to realize how appropriate they really are for everyday....Christmas and Easter joy shouldn't be lived out for just those seasons...but, every day...even in the midst of the desert periods of struggling and wandering that come to us by virtue of being human.. I loved fathers analogy of a giant needle and thread binding heaven and earth together with the realities that Christmas and Easter bring to us as people of faith....I could try to elaborate more..but, I am sure I wouldn't do his homily justice...so....the rest ...I ponder.....

Yesterday was algebra, geometry, and trig..oh my!! Yes indeedy folks......took a math placement test for school. Dont' tell me what in tarnation those three subjects have to do with things, I was figuring more on the lines of fractions, decimals...conversions...nnnnnnnnnnooooooooooo........so, time will tell how I did.
