Moving...honoring...and songs oh my!

Well......it is official I am out on my own! I am getting settled in to a routine and its nice not having to drive very far to work and being able to grab something to eat between things if I have something going on in town. One of the super nice things is having a new canine friend. Mindy absolutely loves me. She's one pretty darn cool dog...even if persistent in trying to get my food! :)

This week was a busy week.....Monday was a talk on Theology of the Body. It was very excellent. I was pleased to see so many younger adults there. :) Friday was our Volunteer Dinner. It is always a good and humbling experience to honor those who give so much to CHAPS. It was a lloonnngggg but, good day!

Yesterday was another long but, good day. My parish was blessed to be host to Mary Haugen for a couple of workshops and a song fest. It was very neat. The second session was a prayer service. It was a bit hefty I will admit...but, it touched me just where I needed touched. And I got to chill with my church community as well as SSJs. And I had the return of one of my favorite sung mantras to me. Marty is sssssoooo right when he says that songs say what we might not find the words for. The message somethings finds it was in the back doors of our heads and hearts when we're so closed up that we aren't ready to recieve the message God wants to convy to us.

Tonight we are taking our religious ed students to a charismatic Mass. I've never been to one so, it should be interesting. I have an idea of what to expect but, don't know exactly what to expect. I know I can probably expect that we might sing Praise and worship songs. But...beyond that i'm not exactly sure what we can expect...so, we shall see!
